The Biochar Process

Standard Biocarbon is committed to producing the highest quality biochar on the best technology platform available as we scale our operations. SBC selected Pyreg, a state-of-the art German pyrolysis technology that features multi-feedstock capability. PYREG's technology turns sawmill residuals such as wood chips and sawdust, into biochar, a versatile and stable form of carbon. The Pyreg technology has been in commercial use for more than 10 years, with over 50 pyrolytic kilns currently deployed globally. The facility operates 24/7 and with precision controls and is utilized by (50)% of biochar manufacturers in Europe. Pyrolysis technology is evolving rapidly with new larger models expected from Pyreg next year and new manufacturers entering the market.

pYREG TECHNOLOGY IS EBC-CERTIFIED

The European Biochar Certificate (EBC) guarantees sustainable biochar production, processing and sale.

It was introduced to provide customers with a reliable quality standard in Europe, while giving producers the opportunity to prove that their products meet well-defined and recognized quality.

With every ton of biochar we produce, we generate carbon removal certificates, also called CORCS.
